The Sharjah International Book Fair is one of the largest book events in the Arab world and a top-tier fair for publishers, authors, and readers across the region. It is listed for 3–14 November 2027 at Expo Centre Sharjah. A professional programme of rights and purchasing appointments runs through the same fortnight as a huge public fair: families, students, and collectors come for books, while publishers come for deals and for the Sharjah Book Authority's cultural network. The fair is also a gateway to other Arab markets, because many of the same houses exhibit in Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, Cairo, and beyond. For BooksAffair, eleven days in Sharjah is one of the best chances to meet Arab publishers and a very large Arabic-reading public in a single venue. The Sharjah Children's Reading Festival, in spring, is a separate event.
