The Cairo International Book Fair is the largest book fair in the Arab world by visitor numbers and the main annual gathering of Egyptian, Arab, and international publishers. The General Egyptian Book Organization organises the 58th edition at the Egypt International Exhibition Center in New Cairo's Fifth Settlement, under the patronage of the presidency. The organiser has confirmed that the edition takes place in January 2027 and has opened publisher registration. Exact opening and closing days are not yet published. This listing uses 21 January to 3 February 2027, the span of the 2026 fair, which ran at the same venue from 10:00 with later closing on Thursday and Friday. Replace those days when GEBO publishes the timetable. For BooksAffair, Cairo is where Arabic-language publishing, a huge reading public, and cultural institutions meet. It pairs with Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, and Riyadh rather than replacing them.
