Japan has no single national book fair on the Frankfurt model. The Tokyo International Book Fair, once the trade show at Tokyo Big Sight, is no longer held, so it is not listed as a 2027 event. The Library Fair & Forum (図書館総合展) at Pacifico Yokohama is the main annual meeting of publishers, libraries, booksellers, and reading organisations, and the practical industry stop for Japanese publishing relationships. The 2026 on-site days were 20–22 October. The 2027 dates are not yet published. This listing uses 19–21 October 2027, the Tuesday–Thursday pattern of that edition, from 10:00 to 18:00. A separate September listing covers the Tokyo Art Book Fair, which is the public and independent-publishing gathering. For BooksAffair, Yokohama in October is where Japanese publishers and library buyers are actually in one hall. Use it together with the art book fair, not instead of a Frankfurt-style rights week that Tokyo no longer hosts.
