Frankfurter Buchmesse is the world's largest trade fair for books, media, and publishing rights, and the single most important week on the BooksAffair calendar. From 6 to 10 October 2027 the Messe Frankfurt halls fill with publishers, literary agents, scouts, translators, booksellers, librarians, and technology companies doing rights deals, co-editions, and distribution agreements. The weekend opens the same fair to the reading public. Chile is the official Guest of Honour, under the presentation "Through the clear skies of literature", which makes 2027 an unusually strong year for Latin American publishing, translation, and author programmes. Chile is the fourth Latin American guest country, after Mexico, Brazil, and Argentina. For BooksAffair this is the place to meet international publishers, agents, and author representatives in one building, and to follow Chilean lists that will be travelling into other languages.
