The Bienal do Livro Rio is Brazil's turn of the São Paulo / Rio book biennial and the Brazilian event to attend in 2027. The editions alternate. São Paulo held the 2026 biennial, so the next São Paulo biennial is 2028, and 2027 belongs to Rio. The organiser has confirmed the 23rd Rio edition for 3–12 September 2027. The year also marks Rio de Janeiro as UNESCO World Book Capital, and the biennial is planned as a centrepiece of that year, with the "Book Park" concept used to turn the fair into a literary festival as well as a sales floor. The 2025 edition at Riocentro in Barra da Tijuca drew more than 740,000 visitors. The 2027 venue was not yet confirmed when this listing was written, so the address stays at Riocentro until the organiser names the site.
