The Shanghai Book Fair is the city's large public book fair, usually in mid-August at the Shanghai Exhibition Center. It is a reader event more than a rights fair: Chinese publishers sell to a huge urban audience, with author sessions through the week. The 2027 dates are not yet published. This listing uses 11–17 August 2027. For BooksAffair it is the Shanghai week for meeting publishers in front of their public, distinct from the June Beijing rights fair and the November children's fair. Confirm the days with the Shanghai municipal organisers.
