The Salone Internazionale del Libro di Torino is Italy's largest public book fair and the country's main meeting of publishers, authors, and readers. The organiser has confirmed that the fair returns to Lingotto Fiere from 13 to 17 May 2027. Catalan literature is Guest of Honour and Lazio is the guest region. The Rights Centre opens a day earlier, from 12 to 14 May, for professional appointments before and during the public days. The Salone draws a very large walk-up audience as well as Italian and international houses, so it works both as a rights meeting and as a festival. For BooksAffair it is the Italian event for authors, independent and large publishers, and reading communities, and it complements Bologna, which is earlier and more children's and trade-focused. Bologna remains the rights fair; Turin is where Italian reading culture shows itself to the public.
