The Auckland Writers Festival is New Zealand's main literary festival, usually a week in mid-May at the Aotea Centre. International and New Zealand authors, publishers, and a large audience share the programme. The 2027 dates are not yet published. This listing uses 18–23 May 2027. For BooksAffair it is the New Zealand meeting place for authors and the publishers who tour them. Wellington's festival is a separate, smaller event later in the year.
