The Abu Dhabi International Book Fair is the emirate's major publishing and public reading event, organised by the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre at ADNEC Centre. The centre has published the fair's dates through 2030. For 2027 they are 24 April to 3 May. Arabic and international publishers exhibit together, with a translation and professional programme beside a large cultural schedule for readers. The fair is one of the main Gulf meeting points for Arab houses, and many of the same publishers also appear at Sharjah and Riyadh, so Abu Dhabi is both a destination and a relationship bridge. For BooksAffair the ten days are valuable for Arabic-language publishers, authors appearing on the cultural programme, and readers who travel to ADNEC from across the UAE. It does not replace Sharjah, which is larger and later in the year; the two fairs serve different weeks and slightly different networks.
