The Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) is one of the Middle East's largest and most internationally recognized book fairs. Established in 1982, it has developed into a major global gathering for publishers, authors, booksellers, literary professionals and readers. The 2026 edition will run for 12 days at Expo Centre Sharjah, from November 4–15.

The fair has an enormous public and commercial dimension, featuring millions of books across numerous languages and subject areas. It attracts publishers from around the world and creates opportunities for readers to purchase books while allowing publishing professionals to establish international relationships.

SIBF also has a strong cultural and educational mission. Its programming includes author appearances, literary discussions, cultural events, children's activities, workshops and professional publishing activities. The event has become an important platform connecting Arab publishing with international publishing markets.

For publishers, Sharjah is particularly valuable for reaching the Middle East, North Africa and South Asian book markets, while also exploring translation, distribution, licensing and international publishing opportunities.
