The Helsinki Book Fair is Finland’s leading literary gathering and a nationally significant cultural forum focused on literature, reading, publishing and freedom of expression. The 2026 edition will take place at the Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre from October 22–25.

The event combines a large book exhibition with a substantial program of author appearances, literary conversations, debates and cultural programming. Writers, politicians, artists, academics and other experts participate in discussions covering literature as well as broader social and cultural issues.

The fair has a strong public orientation, making it an effective environment for publishers and booksellers to interact directly with readers. At the same time, its professional dimension provides opportunities for publishers, literary professionals and authors to network and explore developments in the Finnish and Nordic book markets.
