About the Author
The authors of all of these resource guides are or were classroom teachers. Each person wrote guides corresponding to the level she taught in the classroom. Mary Collins, a high school English teacher and the founder of Teacher's Pet Publications, wrote the first 74 LitPlans. Barbara Linde, a middle school reading specialist, wrote about 25 LitPlans. Janine Sherman, an outstanding elementary school teacher, wrote about 15 LitPlans. Marion Hoffman, a former teacher at Towson State University, developed the DramaWorks guides and has written several LitPlans. All of these authors used their classroom expertise to create practical, high-quality teaching guides so that their fellow English teachers could "stop reinventing the wheel" and would have reliable basic materials for teaching literature.
