C.R. Arioto
Description
Whiskey Boy is a story based on the memories of the author about her first pony and their escapades. It is a story about love, trust, and independence
...
, but mostly it is a story about heart and soul.
“Whiskey always did his best, 100% of the time”, recalls Coreen Arioto, the author.
“He was the little pony that could”.
The story takes place in Pinehurst, California on a US Forest Service ranger station compound that housed employees and seasonal firefighters for the Sequoia National Forest.
“Just living in that remote environment amongst the beauty of the forest, streams, and meadows, was a wonder every day. To be lucky enough to have such an intuitive best friend that happened to be a pony was magical.”
This story offers an example as to the special bond between horses and humans.
