About the Author Nathan Bruner has been a welder since 1986. He served over eight years as a Steelworker in the United States Navy. As a welder and fabricator he went on to work in a variety of shop and field settings nationally and internationally, which included shipbuilding, steel girder fabrication for bridge construction projects, offshore gas platform construction, demolition, and salvage, and pipeline construction. In 1995, Bruner received his BS in Applied Technical Education from the University of Southern Maine. In 1997, he went on to receive the provisional teacher certification (836 Weld, Braze & Solder) from the State of Maine, Department of Education.
