About the Author
Born in Mysore, India in 1925, S. Nanjundan was educated at St. Stephen's College, Delhi. He has had a long career as an economist in the Indian Government (1946-65) and in the United Nations (1965-85). He worked for ten years until 1995 as an international consultant. He rose from humble beginnings to become a deputy Director in the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, Vienna. After the age of 70, glaucoma in both eyes considerably impaired his eyesight. Yet he felt an urge to unravel his experiences of life and work, woven around the United Nations, India, USA, Austria and many of the 80 countries he visited in his lifetime. The author his married and lives in New Delhi.
