A coming of age story on the Mississippi Gulf Coast of the 1960's, where blue waves rolled over a ribbon of white beach, like a post card. But before ... I arrived in Mississippi, the memorable part of my teenage life began on a train across the American West into the orange groves of Southern California. A short stay there took me next to the French Quarter of New Orleans and the exciting world of history, art and Dixieland jazz. But it was in Mississippi that I would be more myself than I would ever be anywhere else, and I sensed that it had been waiting all these young years of my life for me to arrive.
