lling a snowball; students are able to express themselves using more words and more topics in three different aspects. All the vocabulary in each chapter is listed out with pinyin and English meaning for students easy reference. At the end of each book, there is a wrap up exercise, which reviews the entire book to prepare for next level s study. Each chapter context is especially designed to aid students in the reading exercises. Since the later chapters are based on material learned from the previous chapters, it should be easier for students to move on to higher level reading levels because constant reinforcement builds a better foundation. All the exercises are designed to reinforce the reading, writing, and speaking aspects. The book s learning process is based upon a gradual building up as a pyramid, starting from words that build into to sentences that then become paragraphs, all the while providing the stroke orders for each new character. It enables teachers to practice asking and answering questions based on the provided exercises. The emphasis of this book is to make the Chinese language easy to learn and practical for immediate use.
