These two primary purposes of biblical revelation define the parameters of interpretation and open new doors that facilitate the interpretation process. The biblical writers used four primary backgrounds upon which rests the two fundamental principles. The revelation of God's character and the human condition rest on the four background principles of the kingdom of heaven, the revelation on two levels, the impartial nature of God's character, and revelation in an agricultural system. When we read the Bible, we will encounter the four foundational backgrounds throughout the biblical text. These backgrounds are assumed even though they are not designed. These four backgrounds give meaning and context to God's character and to the human condition. When we understand these four fundamental revelational backgrounds, God's character and the human condition become increasingly clearer and much more meaningful.
