Following are some descriptions of Lilly's Pond by others:
As Ms. Lumpkin was walking out of the elementary school that day to take a break between presentations, one of the teachers having just experienced the multi-media presentation of Lilly's Pond by Ms. Lumpkin hurries to catch up. This teacher wanted to know if Ms. Lumpkin was finished for the day or was going to do more presentations. Ms. Lumpkin replies that yes she will be back for another presentation. The teacher was relieved, exclaiming, "Great. I am so glad more students will be experiencing your presentation [of Lilly's Pond]. You know, this is one of those 'get-it-and-keep-it-forever' kind of books."
"My child has never reacted to any book like she has to Lilly's Pond....."says Jo Caroll from Ohio.
"This book is splendid. It is a combination of Dr. Seuss and Silverstein. To be able to merge music, writing, and paintings in this fashion, this is a very talented woman," says Dr. Ed Christman, chaplain at Wake Forest University.
