cient and powerful narrative comprised of Grógaldr (The Spell of Gróa) and Fjölsvinnsmál (The Lay of Fjölsvinnr). Maria brings her signature blend of scholarly rigor and spiritual insight to this visceral tale of the young hero Svipdagr. She traces his journey to the mound where he performs the ultimate act of intention: calling his mother, the völva Gróa, from beyond the veil. Through Maria's translation and commentary, we witness the weaving of nine powerful protection spells designed to shield the seeker from the perils of their wyrd.
In this volume, Maria Kvilhaug reveals: The Power of the Völva: An exploration of ancestral necromancy and the protective galdr used by the ancient seers to navigate the unseen realms. The Wisdom of the Gates: A masterclass in decoding the riddles of the giant Fjölsvinnr and the mythic secrets hidden within Menglöð's hall. Knowledge for the Hearth: Maria's unique perspective on how these ancient staves are not just artifacts of the past, but active tools to help you grow your own magic and stand firm in your personal power.
Whether you are a long-time student of Maria's work or a practitioner seeking the "magic of intention," Spells to Grow serves as an essential thread in your spiritual weave, guided by one of the most respected voices in modern Heathenry.
