It’s important to understand what Project 2025 is proposing. The PRINCIPAL GOAL of Project 2025 is to restructure the government giving unconstrained power to the President. Once the President is all powerful, subsequent changes to such things as abortion rights, civil rights, religious rights, taxes, immigration, etc. can be done quickly without those “pesky checks and balances” the Forefathers put into the Constitution.
Project 2025 is modeled after Hitler’s Enabling Act of 1933—a law that gave the Chancellor the power to make and enforce laws without the involvement of the Reichstag (the German equivalent of Congress). The passage of the Enabling Act transformed Hitler's government into a legal dictatorship and laid the groundwork for his totalitarian regime. The Enabling Act allowed the National Ministry (essentially the cabinet) to enact legislation, including laws deviating from or altering the constitution, without the consent of the Reichstag. Under the Enabling Act Hitler was able to significantly curb civil rights for German citizens and suspend freedom of the press—because once you “suspend the Constitution” there are no more restrictions on power.
