About the Author
Darryl Powell is a 1984 graduate of the University of Rochester with a B.S. degree in Geological Sciences. He teaches Introduction to Physical and Historical Geology at the Finger Lakes Community College in Canandaigua, New York. His educational books for children on rocks and minerals have been widely used by elementary schools, mineral clubs, scouting groups, and mineral show promoters. He is the author of rock and mineral teaching materials for public schools in his home region of central New York State. Darryl, his wife and children live in the beautiful Finger Lakes region of New York State.
