Commemorative coins and medals are authorized by Congress and produced by the United States Mint. The coins and medals celebrate and honor American people, places, events, and institutions. Each coin is crafted to be rich in symbolic history. They represent not only an investment in maintaining our American Past, but also in ensuring our Future.
These Programs includes The American Liberty Gold Program launched in 2017 to mark the 225th anniversary of the establishment of the United States Mint in 1792. The first coin issued was a one-ounce 24k gold coin featuring a modern depiction of Miss Liberty as a young African American woman. America the Beautiful Quarters Program honoring Frederick Douglass and Tuskegee Airmen. U.S. Innovation dollars Program honoring Septima Clark, Underground Railroad, George Washington Carver, and Raye Montague. The Negro Leagues Baseball Commemorative Coin Program honoring the establishment of the Negro National League. The American Women Quarters Program honoring Maya Angelou, Bessie Coleman, Rev.
