r society, the ambition of every pretty young girl is to be named a beauty queen; ideal step to reach the highest dreams.
Bernardette's decision put her against her family whose wishes were to see her reign, and to climb to an upper level in the economic and social scale. The young girl's rejection to participate in another contest also injures the interests of the managerial organization that give her support and protection, so that a plot is gestated against her -including a multiple rape and unlawful imprisonment.
Through Bernardette's inner monologue - in a hallucinating, demythologizing and luminous journey- the author takes us through the essence of a society, which is attacked and victimized by the perversity of economically and politically powerful groups who, like hyenas dispute and share it out, placing society in break-up risk.
