बहरहाल, प्रस्तुत पुस्तक में संकलित लेख जिस समय-काल में लिखे गए हैं तब कोरोना की आहट तक नहीं थी। भारतीय अर्थव्यवस्था विश्व में सबसे तेज गति से विकास करनेवाली अर्थव्यवस्था का रुतबा हासिल करते हुए पाँच ट्रिलियन डॉलर की जी.डी.पी. हासिल करने के लक्ष्य का पीछा करती नजर आ रही थी। कोरोना और अन्य अनेक कारणों से भारत की आर्थिक विकास दर फिलहाल आहत भले ही हुई हो लेकिन दीर्घ काल में वह इन चुनौतियों का मुकाबला करते हुए अपना संतुलन पा ही लेगी। कारण यह है कि भारत की अर्थव्यवस्था समावेशी विकास की अवधारणा को लेकर आगे बढ़ रही है और आर्थिक सुधार का दायरा सामाजिक उत्थान, स्वच्छता और पर्यावरण-सुरक्षा को जिस प्रकार समेटे हुए है उससे तो यह कयास लगाया जा सकता है कि 21वीं सदी का भारत एक जीवंत अर्थव्यवस्था के रूप में विश्व में स्थापित होगा।
