deepens quickly, as the mighty Grand Canyon becomes the setting for a last ditch
(all puns intended) effort to turn the tide by one Henry J. Hoskins. Henry is a
uniquely eccentric working man’s hero. Could that be his ace in the hole?
***
Henry Hoskins may just be the new GOAT in terms of unlikely heroes for troublesome times! He strives for the opposite of attention. But if you think that sounds like the setup for a formulated turnaround or off-the-shelf shuffle, think again! This little book tackles issues from an angle that would make geometry raise an eyebrow, if it had one. The story and its setting arc from CrAy to Z, leaving the cozy interior of Henry’s quiet office at Empty-Co, Inc. for the yawning depths of The Grand Canyon and back again.
One scene, speaking of Henry’s interior, almost makes The Richter Scale run for cover! The plot, action, and characters walk a taut tightrope of sorts. From page one, in a measured manner, you, the reader, are informed that a whimsically precise fantasy is at work here. The story unfolds with engaging attention to detail that respects your intelligence while tickling your funny bone, and then drawing you to the edge of your seat! The marketing term "for children of all ages” has been overapplied at times, but this book can be read and enjoyed on at least two levels: uniquely enjoyable and even more so!
