ecial qualification or competency for this task, I have no special qualification admiration and regard for the authors scholarship , devotion and perseverence in understanding and expounding in understanding and expounding the difficult subject rated in the book. One may not agree with many of the views expressed by the auther but , all the same , the book is of value in importance the relationship of the action and interaction between natural science and philosophy.
It is apparent that the dominating characteristic of our times is the incense and large-scale cultivation of science, both pure and applied , and to control nature through understanding it. What is the value Ultimate purpose of science has always been a question , difficult to answer but of real significance , and it is all the more so in the context of our times. Erwin Schroedinger, one of the greatest of the contemporary physicists and a great natural philosopher has observed in one of his well-known books , that the ultimate value and worthwhileness of science has to be measured essentially by the contribution, however infinitesimal, that it makes and will make, to elucidation on the deepest of all question: What are we and how are we here? These observations serve to underscore that, however important may be the applications of science on philosophic thought , spiritual concepts and ideas and values.
