t as prominent. This work of one hundred verses considers the ultimate, non-dual Reality from ten different philosophical angles, where each angle is revealed in a chapter comprised of ten verses. Each such vision (darshana) is unique, while the non-dual vision running through each remains the same. As such, all visions can be visualized as forming a single garland (mala) united by a common string. The present commentary in Sanskrit by Professor M.H. Shastri is a free rendering of a Malayalam commentary on the Darshanamala, which was the first of its kind, and was written by Swami Vidyananda. Swami Vidyananda was a direct disciple of Narayana Guru and it was he who took down the Guru`s dictation which would come to form the original poem.
