& seven years old. Having only been two years old, I struggled all the way through adulthood to understand in words that made sense to me that my father had passed away. I wanted to write this book for children like me who are grieving before they even understand that grief exists. This book is a version of an adult on their knees & eye level with a child explaining that although their father may not physically be present; they have a father, he was there for them, & he loves them. This book is to assist mothers, grandparents, siblings, extended family members with a fraction of the words that young children can find comfort & understanding in. My sister has done beautifully with illustrating pages that accurately depict the stages of grief a child can identify with without knowing how to explain their feelings.
