A purpose to live for is very important. When I was sixty, I was diagnosed with cancer(non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma) and given about four different typesof chemotherapy. Then I had a seven-year break but, lo and behold, it flared upagain. This time I also had gene therapy and chemotherapy was,mercifully, for a brief period. The desire to finish a book I wasworking on kept me going. Today, ten years later my desire to write still occupies my mindand keeps me going. But, I think of many others who are not as fortunate and I havea great desire to assist them in meeting the challenges of old age,some of which can be quite unexpected. About the Russi M.
