te the conquest of North America. Only one threat stood in their way. A group led by Raymond Anderson. Three separate attempts to kill him were launched, the final effort actually gained access to the time portal that had brought the group back into the past.
The last assassination attempt failed. Raymond Anderson survived, but was successfully removed from his project, leaving only one member of his team with sufficient knowledge to continue the effort to develop a self-sustaining community deep in the artificial caves of WayPoint. WayPoint was a community six kilometers below the surface on the backside of the Moon.
Facing the certainty of defeat at the hands of the crusades of People of the Book and their Brotherhood elites in a post-apocalyptic world teetering on the edge of a new Dark Age, the hundred survivors of Anderson’s crew had only the bare outline of his plan to rescue civilization. Diane Wills, Anderson’s love interest, was the only surviving crew member with sufficient knowledge of the details to continue the project.
She had only a few minor issues to face: Having left their mountain enclave of Utah in 2190, they were stranded in 1840 with a defunct time portal. Diane was among the youngest members of the crew and deeply resented for her position as Anderson’s lover. At least one member of the enemy was still with their group.
Facing hostility from many of the older crew members and the continuing efforts of the traitor among the crew, Diane must manage to complete a project that was the last, best chance to prevent their final defeat and the looming darkness in North America..
To do so, they must establish a viable community in deep caverns below the surface of Mars to gain access to sufficient resources to hope to survive. They needed the stronger gravity well of Mars to safely bear and raise their children. They must locate disasters and rescue people doomed to die, bring them to their community of Heaven, and grow a society that, within the next three centuries, could be trained and be numerous enough to intervene to prevent the ultimate conquest by the religious extremists of the late 2100’s.
