...
provide medical students and junior surgical trainees with an introductory reference text on the essentials as well as the more advanced skills that will remain relevant and useful well into their formal surgical training. In addition to addressing the motor element of surgical skills, this unique manual also provides the student with: an understanding of the situations in which the skills are used; and the principles behind the skills. Bridging the gap between no knowledge and advanced knowledge, Basic Surgical Skills Manual covers the basic skills of wound management, knot tying, local anaesthetic, assisting in operations, sterile techniques and safety in the operating room. This is a valuable introductory text for all medical students.
