This mystery/poetry book is a very interesting concept for a book. Quite a feat of rhyme. Well done! --

In the American criminal justice system, the United States Constitution guarantees that no one agency has the authority to decide on the fate of an alleged suspect. That is why the police have the authority to arrest, but the suspect is subsequently tried by the criminal court. The reason the criminal justice process works in this way is to protect the defendant from the arbitrary abuse of power by any single agency. In this unique case, there is abuse of power by both of the agencies in the criminal justice system which proves that the constitution is no protection for the defendant, Heide Marie Velarde who is railroaded without the due process of law. Due to the contents of disturbing subject matter of police brutality on the school campus, parental discretion is recommended when purchasing this book for your school age children with young impressionable minds.
From the Author
I was a victim when I was arrested and I felt victimized all over again when I was convicted without the due process of law. When the wrongfully convicted are denied the due process of law, the system in reality becomes a criminal system. It cannot be a justice system when there is injustice and abuse of power by the agencies. It is my hope that my book will bring attention to this serious problem. There needs to be reform within the criminal justice system to prevent the abuse of power from repeating to other defendants. Definitely, there is a need to reform law to make the constitutional guarantee of due process of law effective without the statute of limitations.
