This CD delivers all the skills you need to use either 3D Studio VIZ 3.0 or 3D Studio MAX 3.0 to create photorealisitc images and animations.
The 3D Studio VIZ 3.0 projects on the CD cover photorealistic lighting, creating custom materials, modeling with NURBS and modifiers, linking VIZ designs to AutoCAD 14 and 2000 drawings, working with external references and proxy objects, and creating your own tools and toolbars. You also learn how to control visibility with fog, and how to create walkthroughs with the Walkthrough Assistant. You master simple character modeling and animation, camera matching and rendering virtual environments with Smooth Move Panorama. Perhaps most important, you learn how to create 3D models from floor plans, and to work with 3D geometry created in AutoCAD.
The 3D Studio MAX 3.0 projects on the CD cover volume lights, how light and color interact, creating custom materials with scanned images, modeling with modifiers, organic and inorganic modeling techniques, NURBS, forward and inverse kinematics, animating with bones, expression controllers, an introduction to MAXScript and more.
The AutoCAD 2000 3D projects are included on the CD because many users prefer to create their 3D models in AutoCAD. These eight projects give you the skills to create 3D geometry in AutoCAD as well as 3D Studio VIZ and 3D Studio MAX. You can use drawing link to bring this geometry into 3D Studio VIZ, or the .dwg import tools to bring them into MAX.
